A Bit About Me
I have always loved teaching. It makes me really happy to see my students progress into confident speakers. I have worked in California with children with mental and/or physical disabilities in elementary school in the Goleta Union School District. I continued to pursue assisting others to reach their full potential while working with adults with mental and/or physical disabilities at Ronald Reagan Medical Center at UCLA through the company Pathpoint. I wanted to continue teaching students and I had the opportunity to work for an English Academy in South Korea. It was great being able to learn how to change my teaching styles to adapt to teaching English as a foreign language. I worked there for three years and became a Head Instructor. It was very fulfilling, but I wanted to continue making a difference and my career brought me to Tokyo, Japan. I was an eikaiwa teacher for three years for GABA and I had the opportunity to teach a wide range of students from elementary school all the way to businessmen and women. After a while I started to miss teaching children. I took a step away from teaching adults and worked at elementary schools as an Assistant Language Teacher in Tokyo and in Kawagoe for two years. I also taught some online English lessons for children and adults during this time. Toward the end of the pandemic, I had a chance to work for an International Kindergarten in Hokkaido. Hokkaido has been a beautiful place filled with amazing experiences in nature, with snowboarding, going to the new Nipponham Fighters Stadium, and of course eating all of the amazing dishes unique to the area. After finishing my contract I have chosen to continue teaching English to students of all ages and I am excited to help as many people as a I can reach their goals with English speaking and fluency.
